*Expired* Texas Randalls $1000 Giveaway

by Christina on October 31, 2009 1:39 pm

If you live in Houston, Dallas, or Austin put the I Play Tag & Save at Randallssticker on your car’s rear window for a chance to win their $1,000 giveaway if you are spotted by your local participating radio station in a Randalls or Tom Thumb parking lot.

You can pick up a sticker at your local Randalls or Tom Thumb store. When I asked the cashier for one, they had them at the checkout aisle. Radio stations to listen to for hints on which parking lot they’ll visit to pick $1,000 winners are KODA Sunny 99.1 in Houston, KSCS The Big 96.3 in Dallas, and KKMJ Majic 95.5 in Austin. Seven winners will be selected in each city. The giveaway week for Houston and Dallas is Oct. 31 to Nov. 6. For Austin the giveaway week is Nov. 1 to Nov. 7.

Randalls has just lowered prices on thousands of items in their store to help their customers save money. These are real price reductions and you’ll see yellow tags with the “New Low Price” throughout the store. Thanks to Randalls, I’ll be shopping their next week with a gift card they gave me and sharing my savings strategies for Randalls plus giving away gift cards to a few lucky readers!

Personally I love to drink soymilk as a healthy treat when I can find it at a good price. My favorite flavor is Silk Light Chocolate because it’s only 120 calories per serving and tastes decadent while being a healthy treat. Whether you have soymilk occasionally or always have it in your fridge, I wanted to offer some money-saving tips that I’ve learned from my readers.

Ways to Save on Soymilk:

1. Shop Around – I hear that Walmart usually has the best prices on soymilk. Know your prices and compare. If a store is in your neighborhood and you drive by it anyways, it might be worth stopping to get a better price on a few products that you buy on a regular basis. I also scored some free Silk Soymilk at Target – the peelie coupon was on a 2-pack Kashi Cereal package on clearance.

2. Talk to your Grocer – Ask a store employee if they have sales on a regular basis on the soy milk you buy. Do they ever mark it down when it gets close to the expiration date? When is the best day of the week to catch any markdowns?

3. Contact the Manufacturer – Tell your favorite manufacturer that you would like coupons on your favorite soymilk. The most successful way to make this contact is by phone, but you can also e-mail a request. Tell them why you drink their soymilk and you may be pleasantly surprised by receiving some coupons.

4. Tell your Friends – They can collect coupons for you if they know what brand of soymilk you buy on a regular basis.

*Expired* IHOP Free Kids Meal with Coupon

by Christina on October 30, 2009 4:26 pm

Are you getting Kraft Food & Family magazine? Well my friend Nicole says check your Holiday ’09 issue for a coupon on page 13 for a free kids meal at IHOP. Here are the coupon details: Free meal valid for kids 12 and under on “Just for Kids” menu items. Drinks not included unless specified. Not valid with any other discounts, coupons or specials. Dine-in only. Limit 1 coupon per child per visit. Valid at participating restaurants. Exp 1/31/10.

Unfortunately, Kraft is no longer offering free subscriptions to Kraft Food & Family. They now charge $13.98 for a one-year subscription. It appears that the Holiday ’09 issue will be the last issue for those of use who previously enjoyed a free subscription. I don’t recommend paying that $13.98 to continue your subscription, it’s just too much to pay when there are so many free magazines and deeply discounted magazines to enjoy (less than $5 a year).
