Download the free Geoffrey Shuffle App to bring your The Great Big Book of Awesome to life with augmented reality! You can zoom in on toys in the book to see the details and interact with the book. Just look for a golden Geoffrey coin at the bottom corner of some pages. Hold your smart phone or tablet over that page and the game will start loading. Your goal is to find Geoffrey, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Barbie and more characters which are hiding in the shuffled gift boxes. Here’s a video that shows you how to play the Geoffrey Shuffle game. Make Your List with Toys”R”Us for an #AwesomeMoment

I remember how much I loved making my Wish List when I was a kid, and I know my kids love to make them too! It’s easy to use The Great Big Book of Awesome to make your wish list from because there are 95 pages of toys featured! For younger children they can cut & paste the toys they want. For older children they can cut out the Wish List in the front of the book to write on. Your children can also create a Wish List at ToysRUs.com. When my kids start making their Wish Lists I remind them that they aren’t going to receive everything they wish for and they have to be practical about their wishes.

I’m’ using The Great Big Book of Awesome for myself to find out what’s new this year – like the LEGO Dimensions game. It’s fun for my kids and I to discover the new toys at Toys”R”Us even if we don’t have time to browse the store together. After ten years of shopping for toys for two kids, I’ve got some toy shopping tips to share with you!

4 Toy Shopping Tips from Freebies4Mom.com

1. Less is More

Focus on one or two toys that your child wants the most and avoid paying attention to the number of gifts. Kids love Christmas but they get overwhelmed by all the new toys! When they are receiving too many new toys at one time, you’ll see them pick out their one or two favorites and ignore the rest. So just give them their favorites from their Wish List!

2. Games are Great

Our favorite toys are games that our whole family can play together. We play games as a family at least once a week so I’m always looking for “family games” to give as gifts. Look at the games on pages 48 & 49 for some great ideas.

3. Let’s Play

Look for toys that your kids will enjoy playing with for a long time! I look for toys that encourage creativity and learning.

4. Save Your Sanity

Remember that your time is valuable and try to avoid running around to lots of different stores. I love that Toys”R”Us has the best selection of toys because it means I can shop at just one store instead of three or more! I also love that there are multiple ways to save money at Toys”R”Us.
