Back again this year is this opportunity to donate to your local food shelter when you donate to the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 9. This is the program’s 23rd year of collecting donations! You can donate a bag of non-perishable food by leaving it at your mailbox. Your letter carrier will deliver it to a local food bank or pantry. This is such an easy way to make a food donation. Who here has a very well-stocked pantry and could spare some of your extras? I’m calling this a “freebie event” because you don’t have to drive anywhere to make your donation. And it is important to remember that food banks need donations all year round.
