*Expired* Freebie Tip: Join Word-of-Mouth Programs

by Freebies4Mom on June 11, 2009 7:17 pm

Word-of-mouth programs are a great way to try new products for free and get access to high-value coupons. Most are easy to participate in and don’t take much time to do so. I’ve had the most experience with SheSpeaks so I’m listing it first as my top pick! But please browse my entire list because I’ve added some new programs for you to check out.

Here are the word-of-mouth programs I recommend:

SheSpeaks It’s a great “word-of-mouth” marketing program that invites members to try new products, review them, and help spread the word about them. There is no catch, you simply sign-up for free and they will invite you to try new things. I got to try the Ore-Ida Steam ‘n Mash Potatoes and Emergen-C Kidz products for free (plus they gave me coupons to share) and they gave me a free subscription to Ladies Home Journal. I even hosted a SheSpeaks Party for Haagen-Dazs Five ice cream (yummy).

Tryology
Can you create a product review video? Then sign-up to try free full-size products and submit your video review. This is a brand new program for me to learn about so I’d love to get some feedback from readers who try it.

VocalPoint Receive great samples and coupons in your mailbox as part of their campaigns. They love to mail you new stuff to try and offer special opportunities that you can sign-up for to get even more free products. Super easy to participate in and surveys are optional.

Kraft First Taste High-value coupons so you can try new products before anyone else.

Pssst General Mills has got something to whisper in your ear, like a high-value coupon for one of their new products.

All You Reality Checkers Specific opportunities to review products and gather info for upcoming features are emailed out. Even if you don’t get to try a product for free you might just get your picture in a future issue of the All You magazine which would be a big thrill.

House Party Throw a party focused on a specific product, TV show, or service and all your party favors are provided! Just apply for the party you’re interested in and keep your fingers crossed. New applications open up weekly and I share them on Freebie Friday at MomAdvice.

BzzAgent Try new products and spread the word among your friends. This program requires a lot of report writing to document exactly how you spread the word, but is still fairly easy to participate in and offers some great things to try for free.

RepNation Fill out surveys and share your opinion to earn “RepRewards”, but even more importantly be the first to join new campaigns because sometimes they offer special “Welcome Kits”

What has your experience been with word-of-mouth marketing programs? What have you gotten to try for free? Which program is your favorite?

I’ve been a member of BzzAgent and VocalPoint for several years now and I like them both for very different reasons. I’m excited to learn about some others….

BzzAgent has sent me AWESOME products and coupons to try and samples to give to friends. This year alone I received SoftSoap Body Wash, CoverGirl Mascara/Eye Makeup/Lipgloss, and Got2Be Hair products!! That’s just 3 of the campaigns I’ve done – I usually do about 6 or 7 per year. It’s easy and fun, and FREE.

Vocalpoint just sends me random coupons and samples in the mail occasionally (about quarterly).

I would highly recommend either of them and can’t wait to try out some of the others! Thanks Heather!

I got my first sample from bzzagent the other day. I thought it was just going to be like 1 sample. I got a full size bottle of aveeno baby shampoo, 5 shampoo samples, 5 diaper relief samples, and 5 $1.00 off coupons. I was very impressed!

I really like BzzAgent, VocalPoint and Psst. Sometimes I get a little bogged down and can't keep up with my Bzz reports, but other than that it's great.

If you're a bath product junkie, go to totalbeauty.com and review things, then they'll send you stuff just on a basis that you review it within 30 days. I got a free $10 l'oreal mascara there so far!

I'm also a member of Psst. I got one sample from them. It was a Macaroni Grill dinner kit. It was ok. We weren't impressed with it though. The rest of the time, they seem to just send coupons to me, and they are for stuff we would never buy, so the program hasn't really been that useful for me. I am also a member of VocalPoint. I don't recall if I have ever received anything from them, but I just signed up for the Secret Clinical Strength freebie. I have been wanting to try that stuff out, so I'm glad that they are giving us the chance to do so. I am also a member of Tryology, although I have not done anything in that group yet. I have so many things I want to do with that group, and it's great that we can actually get paid money for our video diaries about these items. I need to hurry up and transfer the videos off my video camera, so I can do these. I am also a member of SheSpeaks. I received the free Taste of Home magazine and Ladies Home Journal magazine. I loved Taste of Home mag. LHJ was not that great.

I'm a member and have been for a couple of years, of Houseparty.com! It's awesome! I've been chosen for 3 parties so far. I did a party for Greenworks cleaning products, one for Sargento potato products, and just about a week or so ago, I did one for Barbie! It is so much fun because you get to try out new things, some of which aren't even out in the stores yet, and you get tons of free stuff for you and your guests. You can apply for whichever parties you want, and it's all free!

I love this site. Thanks so much for all of the info that you provide for us. Are there sites that send coupons instead of requiring us to print them? With the cost of ink, I don't know if it's worth the printing cost. Thanks so much.

I love these programs but sometimes I just don't have the time to participate enough. Speaking of free things, I have a new deal going on at my blog. Has to do with getting freebies in your mailbox without doing any of the work involved! Check it outwww.reliablefreebies.blogspot.com

Thanks for the list Heather. As for me, I am actual a member of the MomKnows 100 Club at SheKnows.com Back in April, which was my first month participating, I received 3 very large boxes full of Wild Harvest Organic Food. I received them about 1 1/2 weeks apart from each other. It was wonderful and I loved reviewing all the different items. I look forward to joining a few on your list also. Thanks Again!!

We got chosen for the Fisher Price House Party last September and it was AMAZING!! The fact we got all of those toys for free was a saving grace right before my husband lost his job. It's a great program and I highly recommend signing up!
