This is the fifth money-saving tip from Coupons.com, my favorite source of printable coupons. Kim Danger is the Family Savings Expert for Coupons.com and she has written these 11 money-saving tips to help you cut costs in your household and save up to $10,000 a year. Here is the fifth tip from Kim Danger:

Buy Fewer Pieces of Clothing
“Let’s face it: most of our closets are overstuffed the way it is. Wear out what you have, and when you do purchase something get it at the end of the season when it’s marked down by 50-75%. The best time to be purchasing warm weather clothing is in August; cool-weather clothing in January. Let the Mommysavers.com What’s In Store forum clue you in to markdowns and where to find the best deals. Most people are so wrapped up in the idea of image; but the truth is other people don’t pay as much attention to what you wear as you think they do. In fact, one woman in Canada wore the same thing to the office for a month and only a few people noticed. Total Savings: $1000 per year”

More Clothing Saving Tips from Freebies 4 Mom
I’ve got two toddlers and rarely go shopping for clothes for myself. But this month I discovered that my Target was having an extra 30% off their clearance clothing (most items already marked-down 75% off) so I took the time to thoroughly browse the racks and bought some new clothes while spending very little. Most items I bought cost around $4, and it wasn’t just winter clothing – I also found lots of t-shirts. After my shopping experience at Target I really believe that shopping for new clothes without spending full-price is all a matter of timing. Shop the clearance and at the end of each season and try to buy ahead for yourself and your family. If you don’t have time to check-out the in-store deals, then shop online and use Ebates to earn cash back on purchases at most online stores.

I’d love to hear your tips on saving money on your clothing purchases – please leave a comment. Another great way to add new pieces to your wardrobe is to shop at garage sales, but you’ve got to have the time for this type of treasure-hunting.

Save 30% off one item at Bealls or Palais Royal
Sounds like a great coupon you could use on new clothes if you have one of these stores in your area.
Here is the store locator. You can use one coupon per customer per day – but you should be able to print the coupon twice to use on two different days.
