Ah, well, I don’t have one of those either! I’ve got a Palm pda at the moment, and can read some e-books on that, but Palm doesn’t make pda’s any more and it’s got a limited lifespan. So I’m trying to figure out a substitute now, rather than waiting until the pda dies and I’m all frantic. ;-) The problem with an ipad (other than price) is that its too big to just carry around everywhere – my pda fits nicely in my purse and I can pull it out anywhere and be happily reading.

You can not read Kindle books on the Nook. I think that Kindle has more free eBooks available than the Nook, look at the free books I’ve posted. Personally I don’t have a Kindle though, I read Kindle books on my iPad.
