I dug up some great bath time hacks that I wrote when I had “two under two” little kids running amuck.
Discover New Bath Toys in Your House
New bath toys make bath time more fun for everyone, but how do you get them without spending a dime? Look around your house and you’ll be surprised by all the great “new” bath toys you’ll find.
Ideal bath toys dry easily and are safe for your children to play with. The kitchen is a great place to start looking for colanders, measuring spoons and cups, turkey baster, and plastic dishes. Do you have small pool toys in your garage or outside? Bring them in for something new to play with inside the tub. The same toy in a new play setting will often yield unexpected delight and new imaginative play. Have any baby toys your kids have outgrown (teethers, balls, and other plastic toys)?
Be sure to store those new bath toys in a breathable container so that they will dry thoroughly. Look for a breathable container you already have like a plastic colander, plastic mesh bag, or a clothes hanger with clips.
Now you may have more bath toys than you know what to do with, so consider rotating them to keep bath time more interesting for you and your kids.
Pamper Yourself While Bathing The Kids
Turn “bath time” into “pamper time” by using the opportunity to soak your feet while your kids are in the tub! I’ve got a ledge on my bathtub to sit on, but you could easily pull up a chair to the bathtub. Pour in some lavender baby bath for some aromatherapy, browse a magazine while your kids are happily playing, and have lotion and socks ready to put on your pampered footsies when you are done. I’ve found this is a great way to turn a fun time for my kids into a pampering opportunity for me while I remain hands-on to supervise their play.
