Would you love to get cash rebates on your online purchases? Sign-up with Ebates for your $5 sign-up bonus and when you do your shopping through Ebates you can earn cash back from hundreds of online stores you already shop at. This is a great way to get rebates on online purchases you are normally making.
A small bonus when you sign-up is that they will put a $5 sign-up bonus into your account. As soon as you make your first $5 purchase through Ebates (from any store that offers cash back) then that $5 bonus is yours plus whatever cash-back percentage offered for that store. So, it’s like a $5 rebate on any item you purchase. You will get paid that $5 sign-up bonus as soon as you earn at least $5.01 in cash back from your purchasesthrough Ebates.
Ebates is a fabulous way to create your own cash rebate on almost every online purchase you make. Plus they give you easy access to some of the best coupon codes and promotions for your favorite stores.
1. Visit Ebates and sign-up (or sign-in if you are already registered)
2. Type in the name of the store in the top left-hand corner (i.e. Target) then click “Search”
3. Click on the store to shop. You will see how much cash back you will earn (4% at Target) and what coupons are available to use at that store. Just click on the name of the store and you are on your way to earning that percentage cash back on your purchase.
See how easy it is? And you can still use coupon codes because Ebates helps you find those coupon codes! The best part is that Ebates gives you the option to receive a check in the mail every 3 months when you earned at least $5.01 cash back in your account. Or you can have your cash deposited into your PayPal account. There is absolutely no paper work or follow-up for you to do to get your cash rebates, you simply find your online store on Ebates and then click on your store to start your shopping. You can also choose to not receive emails from Ebates by visiting “Communication Preferences” in “My Account”. This is honestly one of the easiest online rebate programs I’ve ever used. And my rebates are adding up fast even though I do not make many purchases online.
I do not use Ebates as a reason or an incentive to make online purchases. I use it as a way to get some cash back on purchases I would normally be making. And I will admit that I often forget to visit Ebates before I start shopping (and therefore miss out on cash back). But you’ll see a reminder up on the right side of my blog to help you get to Ebates faster. I’m even going to print out the Ebates logo and tape it on my computer monitor to help me remember.
Ebates is my favorite cash back site, read more about why I love it in these posts:

Love Ebates. My husband is stocking up on Magic The Gathering Cards on Ebay, and every penny in savings helps.Heather thanks for your wonderful blog. It has helped our family in so many ways.
is there a certain amount you have to have in your account before they mail a check? I signed up last year & haven't received a check from ebates yet. I did receive the $10 target gift card though!!
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here for the kind words about Ebates, and give a special thanks to Heather who has been an amazing ambassador for us in the time I’ve been with the company. I look forward to her guest posts as much as all of you do!!
Alice – Ebates is an affiliate for tons of online stores. They simply share their affiliate earnings with their shoppers. You are still buying directly from the store, you simply are getting to that store by clicking on the affiliate link on the Ebates website. Plus Ebates helps you find coupon codes to save even more. It’s a simple business concept, and now tons of “rebates sites” are popping up. But Ebates is still the best!-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom
So is the only way that eBates works is when you make an online purchase? Am I putting my credit card information into the online retailer, or into eBates?Alice (askymi on Twitter)
I just received today my 1st Big Fat Check from ebates and I tell ya I had a big smile walking back from my mailbox. I mean its not a huge amount of cash ($19.60) but that is money I would not have been getting if I had not signed up to ebates. This has been the easies way to save money so far :) THANK YOU!!
I love ebates too! Since signing up a few months ago, I have already received a check for $16 and am expecting another for about $92. Woo hoo! Plus I’m already on my way to a $30 check for next time. I’ve gone through them for some big purchases for my upcoming baby and it’s definitely “paid” off!
I love ebates. I signed up a few months back and I am finally getting my 1st BIG FAT CHECK :) It is only for about $20 but that is $20 I would not had gotten if I had not signed up for ebated. Thanks Heather!!!
Mkcoy – No, Ebates is all about online shopping.-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom
Do Ebates have a no spend cashback section? You know where you can click links or sign up to free offers and get free cashback?
Krystyn – I’m sorry you are having problems getting your cash back and I hope that Ebates is able to resolve the problem soon! People do need to understand that Ebates is an affiliate for the numerous retailers they list on their site. If Ebates has problems with some retailers, then they may have problems getting you your cash back for specific transactions. You also can not get cash back for gift card purchases. Personally I have not had any problems getting my cash back for my transactions. It’s also good to know that once in awhile if you use a coupon code that is not shown on Ebates you may not get cash back for that purchase. I haven’t experienced this (and I use coupon codes not listed at Ebates) but I know it sometimes happens. I always recommend only making your normal purchases through Ebates. That way the cash back is always something extra you wouldn’t normally be expecting. Just in case in the unlikely event that there is a problem you aren’t relying on getting that money back (but of course you usually will).-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom
As an FYI, I have about $30 they are holding hostage right now because of a “misunderstanding” they had with about 3 retailers I used at Christmas. It’s a little frustrating to me.
