Penguin Young Readers has offered another fabulous book giveaway, this time for the books Yellowbelly and Plum Go To School by Nathan Hale and Bean Thirteen by Matthew McElligott. One reader will win these two hardcover kids books and a $10 gift card to Barnes & Noble that I contributed to this prize package to make it even sweeter (total prize package has approximate retail value of $43).
Read more about Yellowbelly and Plum Go To School:
Yellowbelly’s stuffed bear Plum is his best friend in the world. They do everything together. So when it?s time to go off to school for the first time, Yellowbelly can’t imagine not taking Plum along. At school they learn lots of fun new things, and they both make lots of new friends.
When Plum disappears, Yellowbelly is upset at first. But Plum has been off learning games that the two friends never played before. And when the two are joyfully reunited, Yellowbelly teaches everyone their old games, while Plum can teach Yellowbelly his new ones.
A fun, joyful story about school and friendship that introduces two lovable new characters.
Read more about the story Bean Thirteen:
Ralph warns Flora not to pick that thirteenth bean. Everyone knows it’s unlucky! Now that they’re stuck with it, how can they make it disappear? If they each eat half the beans, there’s still one left over. And if they invite a friend over, they each eat four beans, but there’s still one left over! And four friends could each eat three beans, but there’s still one left over! HOW WILL THEY ESCAPE THE CURSE OF BEAN THIRTEEN?!
A funny story about beans, that may secretly be about . . . math! Sometimes you can divide, but you just can’t conquer (the bean thirteen, that is).
