*Expired* Last day for 5 Swagbucks

by Freebies4Mom on September 10, 2009 7:31 am

If you still haven’t signed-up for Swagbucks then I’d love to start you off with 5 Swagbucks in your new account. Don’t wait because this exclusive code for Freebies 4 Mom readers is valid only through the end of today (Thursday). Already a member? Look below to find out how to add up to 30 free Swagbucks during September to your account.

1. Sign-up for Swagbucks by registering with your name,
2. Enter the SwagCode: freebie4you in the blue box (yes, it’s case sensitive) to add 2 Swagbucks to your account
3. You’ll also get 3 Swagbucks as a new member, this is the normal promotion
4. Hurray! You’ve got 5 Swagbucks to get your new account kicked-off with.

My favorite reward that you can purchase with your Swagbucks is the $5 gift certificate. You can buy one after earning 45 Swagbucks. It’s one of the best values I’ve found in the gift cards section of the Swagstore because it costs only 9 Swagbucks per dollar. The beauty of gift cards is that you can use several in one transaction, and if you take advantage of free shipping than you really can get something for free (or pretty darn close).

I honestly was kind of skeptical about Swagbucks until I actually started using it consistently as my search engine. Here’s why I’m now a huge fan:
* Get Results: I get similar search results to what I would get using Google
* Rewarding: I earn Swagbucks often enough just by using it as my search engine that it feels rewarding.
* Big Wins: I often win more than a single point, my biggest one-time win was 5 points – very rewarding.
* Referrals are Easy: Anyone can refer their friends to use Swagbucks and earn their points faster
* $5 Gift Cards: It’s been easy for me to select and redeem my reward of choice when I have earned 45 points. You can redeem a maximum of two rewards per day.
* Not Annoying: Some websites simply annoy me because of the way they are designed or the ads they display. Swagbucks is not an annoying site and it’s quite user-friendly.

The biggest reason why I’m a fan of Swagbucks? I’m earning gift cards by doing something I’d normally do on the web – use a search engine. It doesn’t require any extra email. I’ve just bookmarked so that I can get there easily anytime I want to search for something. They also have toolbars that you can download so that it becomes part of your internet browser. I hope that it becomes a great resource for you to earn some gift cards just by searching the web!

New Toolbar = 30 Swagbucks for Everyone!

It’s simple, just download the new toolbar that works with Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari because every day in September a new Swag Code is released exclusively on that toolbar (click on the envelope). I just upgraded my browser to Firefox 3.5.2 so that I could successfully install the new toolbar because there is no way I’m not going to claim my 30 Swagbucks.

Update: If you have the new toolbar installed you can get one code each day in September for potentially a total of 30 Swagbucks if you redeem the new code each day. You’ll find that code by clicking on the envelope in the toolbar when you have a new message from “TSG”.

Sara – They only send one message each day with a code that is only valid for a limited time (a few hours, it varies). So you just have to check every day – you can hit the green refresh button after clicking on "From TSG". I've gotten a few of them, but definitely not all of them. So – they are harder to catch on-time than I thought they would be.-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom

I downloaded the new tool bar for the codes as well and I haven't gotten any! The first one says "expired" and all the others say "message deleted" when I try to click on the message. I tried clicking the green refresh button…NOTHING. bummer! any tips??

Does this code work if you already have a swagbucks account? It wouldn't recognize it for me.

Heather September 10, 2009 at 12:21 pm

Thanks for your patience – the code has been fixed! You can sign-up now and start off with 5 Swagbucks.-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom

On the toolbar codes, you need to click on the green refresh after you click on "From TSG" to get it to update. Otherwise it's only updating when you load your browser again – that's why it's showing-up a day late for you. Good luck, hope you can get some codes that will work!-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom

I downloaded the toolbar last week, but every time I check the mailbox for the Swag Buck for the day, it says that it's expired. Am I doing something wrong? I only downloaded the toolbar for the swag codes, but I haven't gotten Any yet. Thank you.

I just added the toolbar and got a code in my inbox and it says it is only for the first 5,000 people:(

Still saying code is expired

The Short Mom September 10, 2009 at 9:48 am

I'm not able to get the code to work either and I tried a couple of times, says that it has expired.

I had the same problem when typing in "freebie4you"…it said it was expired. Hope you can get it fixed. Thanks!

Monica September 10, 2009 at 8:53 am

Thanks Heather, I tried that and it is still not working.

Heather September 10, 2009 at 8:49 am

Monica – Try again, be sure that you type it in all lowercase. Let me know if it still doesn't work and I'll send an email to Swagbucks about it.-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom

I'm not able to use the freebie4you code – it is saying that it has expired. 🙁

I don't think you have anything to worry about with Swagbucks. It's simply an online search engine, so you visit them to do your searching. You don't have to download the toolbar or anything else if you don't want to. Of course it's always a good idea to have anti-virus and anti-spyware software to protect your computer. But my own experience is that there isn't anything to be concerned about with Swagbucks.-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom

This is probably a stupid question, but swagbucks doesn't add spyware or anything on your computer? I've thought about it before and it sounds cool, but you know how many things out there can destroy your computer, you never know…
