*Expired* Walmart Freebies 4 Mom: Power of Coupons

by Freebies4Mom on June 18, 2008 7:31 am

Isn’t it amazing how coupons and rebates can help you buy all of this for free? If I would have bought all of these things at full-price, I would have spent $28.98. Instead I spent $0 if I include the mail-in-rebate that I will get from Zout. Thanks to Hooray for free-bates! I am smarter about requesting rebates and I’m receiving every rebate that I request. I did receive one sample of Nature Made vitamins in the mail from Walmart this week, but everything else I “bought” for free!

A few things to note about Walmart. Each Walmart carries a different selection of products and the prices may vary by store. Each
cashier handles coupons differently and sometimes you will get coupon overage, other times you will not.

Angela – I am following Lori’s advice about keeping a copy of all of the paperwork I mail, recording when I mail the rebate, and following-up with a company if I do not receive the rebate. If you have a copy of your paperwork (and sometimes even if you don’t) it is easy to resolve any question over the phone and hopefully your rebate check will be in the mail! Most rebates I receive, but for the few I have not received I’ve followed up on them. You just need to be persistent, most companies are happy to send you your refund money, but sometimes there are glitches in their system.

Wow! What a haul! I just love your site. Since I haven’t been in charge of the household’s groceries lately, it’s still a thrill to get things for free, and your site always helps with that!

BrandiRose – If you have received a sample from o.b. recently, you might have gotten a coupon with the sample. I think there was a coupon in a previous Sunday paper insert also, but I can’t seem to track down the date of the insert. But – if you buy the 97 cent o.b. travel pack, you will most likely find a coupon inside for $1 off (like I did) and be able to use it on your next visit. Every time you can pick one up with your coupon you will get another coupon inside the package.

I’ve found I do better at Wal-Mart if I use the self-checkout and can run my coupons through– the checkout helper has to come by and “approve” my coupons but I’ve been able to get the overage by doing it this way– when I’ve used the regular check-out they refuse to give the overage. I went today and bought many of the same things you show here for “free”!!

Can you tell me what you have changed to ensure you get every rebate you send in? I have mixed results with mail in rebates and I’m wondering if there is something I’m doing wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your hard work putting together deals on the blog. Angela

Can you tell me what you’ve changed to make sure you get every rebate you send in? I’ve had mixed success with rebates and I’m wondering what I’m doing wrong. I send the receipt, circle the price, include the upc. Is there a trick? Thanks, Angela
