Want to learn more about baby shoe bronzing? Here’s more info:
Baby Shoe Bronzing is a tradition for many families. The company represented by Chicks & Cubs has been preserving these family keepsakes since 1930. “I have found that many people want a keepsake that will become a family heirloom. This is exactly what we provide. Our quality is the very best.” said Cynthia Powell. Today there are more options to families with the traditional antique bronze but also pewter and silver plating of shoes. There are lots of mounting options: unmounted, bookends, wood plaques with photo frames and much more. Family also want to preserve other items like pacifiers and ballet shoes and small toys, we are not just about baby shoes anymore.
Cynthia Powell is the mom behind this mom-owned business. Here’s more about her:
Cynthia Powell has always had a tender heart for keepsakes. When she had her first child, she wanted to be home with him. She started looking for a business that would allow that for her family. In May 1999 she opened Chicks & Cubs. She opened the business with Patty-Cakes (hand/footprint keepsakes) and baby shoe bronzing. Here almost 10 years later, Chicks & Cubs was just awarded the 2008 Top 20 sales award from the Baby Shoe Bronzing company she represents. You can trust Chicks & Cubs for quality, price and service.

Okay… this has only a little to do with baby shoes, but I thought I’d pass this rare shoe deal… 1/2 off 2nd pair + 20% off + free shipping http://www.crazybargain.com/2009/04/famous-footwear-coupons.html
I had my daughter’s shoes bronzed 34 years ago. After she was grown, I removed the shoes from the base, punched a hole in the back of the shoe and inserted a red ribbon and bow. What a cute Christmas tree ornament and momento. I kept one and gave one to my daughter to share on her family’s Christmas tree. What a treasure.
I have yet to bronze any of the 3 kids’ shoes. So, I guess I would start with the 11 year old’s- hmmm I have a tiny pair of canvas converse high tops of his.
My son (13 mo.) just grew out of his first pair of shoes and I still have my daughter’s (4 yrs.)sitting on a shelf getting dusty. I would love to get them done. I thought they stopped doing this kind of thing. Great giveaway!

Oh, I have wanted to do this for a long time! I saved my daughter’s cutest shoes, but since my husband went to medical school, we are dirt poor. I just have to stare at the white mary janes with embroidered flowers and try not to smell them…..
