This is a quick and easy guide to read. It makes you think about some of your daily habits in a new light, which is a great thing to do with the goal of keeping your family healthy in mind. Here are a few of my favorite tips from this guide:
- We all hear about how important it is to wash your hands often, but do you think about telling your kids to wash their hands at the start of a play date?
- If you can’t put a stuffed animal in the washing machine, then put it in a plastic bag in the freezer to kill the dust mites
- I’m putting my kitchen sponges in the dishwasher nightly, but now I know I can also stick them in the microwave for 30 seconds to zap those germs away.
- One habit I need to work on with my 2-year old is teaching him to sneeze or cough into his elbow rather than his hands
You can download What to Expect Guide to a Healthy Home to print your own copy. You can also enter my giveaway (see below) for a chance to get one mailed to you along with some great coupons!
Although this guide is sponsored by Clorox, there aren’t any specific product recommendations in it, which is nice because that means it does not read like an advertisement. But I am a big fan of Clorox products, so I’m going to tell you about my favorites. My favorite product is the “Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface Daily Sanitizing Spray”. I use it daily for the kitchen counter tops, table, lunchbox, highchair, and toys. I always have a bottle of it sitting by my kitchen sink, ready to sanitize whatever needs sanitizing. I love that it is odorless, but sanitizes while still being safe to use on food preparation surfaces. My second favorite product has got to be the “Clorox Disinfecting Wipes”. Talk about a lifesaver for me for quick disinfecting, especially when I was dealing with a sick 2-year old with rhotovirus last spring. They are also great for disinfecting the bathroom.
Patty and Laura won the giveaway! I’m giving away the following to two of my lucky readers: a copy of What to Expect Guide to a Healthy Home, a sample of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, and coupons for Clorox products (save up to $3). All you need to do to enter this giveaway is send me an e-mail me and tell me how many surfaces most people touch every 30 minutes (hint: look at page 5) and what your mailing address is. Beth, Ashley, Suzette, Tricia, Nicole, Terran, Mandy, and Megan are all getting the coupons! I’ll mail the first 8 readers with the correct answer coupons for Clorox products (save up to $3), and enter them in the giveaway. I’ll draw the two lucky winners on Saturday morning and post them here. Good luck and wishing you a healthy holiday season!
