š„DIY Paper Towel Flowers plus my Bacon Wrapped Feta Stuffed Dates Recipe
I’m thrilled to bring you this post sponsored byĀ VivaĀ® VantageĀ®. As always, my opinions are my own and are not edited by the sponsor.
I am so glad I made the switch toĀ VivaĀ® VantageĀ® because it’s stretchy-strength means it performs better than my old paper towels. I’m using less paper towels overall now, because I get the job done with less. I’m also branching out and trying new uses for paper towels, like making DIY Paper Towel Flowers to serve appetizers on. I’ve got a tutorial below for how to make them plus I’ve included my recipe for Bacon Wrapped Feta Stuffed Dates which is the perfect finger food to serve on the Paper Towel Flowers to keep your hands clean and garnish it beautifully.
I am so glad I made the switch because experiencing the high-quality ofĀ VivaĀ® VantageĀ® is the best way to see how it can switch up your cleaning, cooking and household routines for the better. I’m not going back to using my old paper towels. I love the sponge-like absorbency thatĀ VivaĀ® VantageĀ® has. I can use less paper towels now because I can stretch my scrubbing power. You’ll see for yourself whyĀ VivaĀ® VantageĀ® was recently named a 2015 Product of the Year when you use it in your house.
Bacon Wrapped Feta Stuffed Dates Recipe
This appetizer is so easy to make. I first tried it at a gathering and I was so impressed with the combination of sweet and salty flavors. I used a chopstick to help me stuff the dates with the feta cheese and pine nuts. I broiled them in my toaster oven.

- Pitted Dates
- Bacon
- Feta Cheese
- Pine Nuts
- Toothpicks
- Star Fruit (optional garnish)
- Rosemary sprigs (optional garnish)
- Paper Towel Flowers (optional serving dish)
- Stuff pitted dates about half full with feta cheese using a chopstick to help you press down the cheese into the hole where the pit used to be.
- Add in three pine nuts then top with more feta cheese until date is full.
- Wrap date with half a strip of bacon and secure ends by overlapping and skewering with a toothpick.
- Place dates on a baking sheet and broil for 4 minutes on each side.
- Place dates on paper towels to cool off.
- Serve with sliced star fruit and sprigs of rosemary on Paper Towel Flowers.

#7DaySwitchUp Ideas
I was lucky to get invited to a Viva® Vantage® Event in Houston at the home of Moms Confession so I could learn more about the revolutionary V-Flex⢠Weave and learn some new switch ups for my house.
One of my favorite switch ups are these DIY Napkin Holders as a way to turn yourĀ VivaĀ® VantageĀ® into an elegant napkin for the dinner or buffet table. You secure a silk flower to twine using hot glue then tie the twine around aĀ VivaĀ® VantageĀ® paper towel that is loosely rolled. What an elegant presentation! My old paper towels are not thick enough to use as napkins.
Another tip I love is usingĀ VivaĀ® VantageĀ® instead of a colander for fruits and vegetables. With it’s stretchy-strength it is strong enough to use in place of a strainer or colander because the water filters through it without it tearing. My old paper towels tear when you run water over them because they are thin.
How to make DIY Paper Towel Flowers
It’s easy to make Paper Towel Flowers using VivaĀ® VantageĀ® Ā withĀ just a few folds and I show you how in my step-by-step tutorial. I love to use these to serve appetizers because it allows me to add garnishes to my appetizer and it’s an easy way to serve individual appetizers. Pin it so you can use this idea later!
Step 1 – Trim yourĀ VivaĀ® VantageĀ® towel to a 10 inch by 10 inch square. I used a paper cutter to measure and trim it.
Ā
Step 2 – Fold into fourths so you’ll have guidelines to help you with your first folds.
Ā
Step 3 – Fold in four corners to the center.
Ā
Step 4 – Again, fold in four corners to the center.
Ā
Step 5 – Turn your square over so the unfolded side is facing up.
Ā
Step 6 – Fold in four corners to the center.
Ā
Step 7 – Press the side that is currently up to the top of a bottle with cap. I used an olive oil bottle as my form.
Ā
Step 8 – Press sides down around the cap to get a cup shape started.
Ā
Step 9 – Fold triangles back and down in a clockwise pattern. After folding down the first four triangles you will have four more triangles to fold over for a total of eight triangles.
Ā
Step 10 – After folding all eight triangles you will reveal a smooth bottom to your Paper Towel Flower
Ā
Step 11 – Remove your Paper Towel Flower and turn it over. It’s now ready to use to serve appetizers or candy!
Ā
I’d love to hear what else your making with paper towels?
