Remember that Kashi TLC Oatmeal Dark Chocolate cookie sample that Christina told you about? Well, unfortunately it’s part of the Kashi Peanut Recall along with other TLC Chewy Cookies and Granola Bars. I had already eaten my cookie, but thank goodness I read the recall notice from Kashi closely because I had a box of the recalled TLC Chewy Granola Bars in Honey Almond Flax. I just called Kashi and requested a refund on that box of granola bars that I just threw away.
Please check your pantry carefully, and do a search on the FDA’s Peanut Recall page. You should throw away any products on the recall list and request a refund from the company. Don’t assume that the recall only covers peanut butter, because it’s for lots of products that contain peanuts and even some products that don’t but were processed on the same equipment as the tainted peanut products.

Oh, man, I was eating the dark chocolate cookies when I saw this post…. geez. We have already eaten a few boxes… we are okay. Thanks for the heads up though. I just spit my cookie out. hehe….
Thanks for reminding us about this. I just searched all the possible pnut products in our house to make sure. My box of Austin Peanut Butter crackers was on the list! Here is a link to a page on the FDA where you can search by brand name, UPC, product description or any combo of those. http://tinyurl.com/8s3mwr
I think it’s funny that Kashi would think I would have a free cookie just hanging around months after I received it. LOL! I ate the cookie, and survived, and I applaud Kashi for still taking the time to notify customers of the full extent of its recall.
We ate an entire box of the Kashi Oatmeal Dark Chocolate cookies, and no one got sick. If that makes anyone feel any better. I pulled the box out of the recycle and it was one of the ones that was recalled. I think it has a very small amount of peanut flour in it.
THANK YOU Heather! I never would have thought of the non-peanut items! Wow, that is some list. Thanks for the heads-up!
