What a surprise when I checked my inbox this afternoon! Please check your inbox if you ordered a Britax Marathon from Target and your order was canceled. I posted what I thought was a great deal on the Britax Marathon last week. I would have never posted it if I thought it was an error – but there were two Britax Marathons at rock-bottom prices and I thought it was just a really good sale of a limited stock. Well, it ended up being an unusual pricing error and now Target is making it up to all of us whose orders were canceled. I received an email for a $25 e-GiftCard to use on anything at Target.com. It sounds like several of my readers are receiving the same thing. I am totally surprised, but applaud Target’s effort to “make things right” and keep their Target customers happy even when Target messes up. This is a good example of a retailer going above and beyond what they need to do to make their customers happy. Thank you, Target.
And remember that if you shop through Ebates you’ll get 4% cash back from the purchase you make at Target.com. I’ll be hunting for a great deal and if I find one I’ll be sharing what I spend my $25 on this weekend. There are tons of items right now that have free shipping. And Target always has great clearance sales (hopefully no more pricing errors though).
I file all offers that require a purchase under rebates.

While this was definitely something Target NEEDED to do for it’s consumers, I just wanted to point out that it took a LOT of people calling to get them to do this for us. I can’t tell you how many rude, unprofessional employees I encountered on the phone trying to make some sense of this whole mess. Employees that basically told me to “suck it up, it was a mistake”. Yes, it’s a great gesture on their part, but take it with a grain of salt.
I didn’t get one! Now I’m really mad!! Did others not get one, or am I the only one? :(
I went on the site last wk to buy one and got sent an email stating there was an err with the internet pricing, that they could not sell that item to me for that price. so that might be why you all got the gift card and refund.Even though I think they should have sold the item to everyone that bought them for that price but YOU GOT FREE MONEY!!!! LOL
I got one too! Yay for free money!!!
I got one too! Neat thing is, I was trying to get two carseats (one for each car) for baby #3 we were trying for. My order got cancelled and in the meanwhile, guess what? Pregnant!!! Boy I really needed those seats BUT, I need summer maternity clothes more—due end of July. First two girls were due in March and April so I have no summer clothes for up here in Indiana when it finally gets warm in June. Summer stuff is all clearanced out right now so I used my e-card and decided to spend $50 total to get free shipping—also the CWOFFERS code is still good—got 10% more off and ended up with 9 shirts and a pair of shorts for $28.86 including tax!!!! Thank you for helping me be well dressed when I am HUGE this summer! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
I still haven’t gotten mine…is everyone supposed to get one? I sure hope so, because it would really not be fair otherwise.
Wow…that’s great that they are responding like that.Ebates is going to offer double cash back on all stores on Friday (from midnight to midnight), so if you wait to buy something until then, you’ll get 8% cash back on your free gift card!
I too was totally caught off guard by it as well. I guess they want to make sure people still spend money at their store and maybe, just maybe, because of the massive exposure among mom bloggers, they decided this kind of good will would win us all back!
Oooh, I got one too! I was definitely surprised to see it since the order had been completely removed from my account with no record of it ever having been there.
