Tom’s of Maine has a great selection of natural products including kids toothpaste! Tom’s of Maine gave me free samples for my kids to try, and I must say the yummy Silly Strawberry flavor was a big hit with them. Twenty lucky readers will win Tom’s of Maine Kids Toothpaste in Silly Strawberry (approximate retail value $2.95).
Brushing Kids Teeth with Tom’s of Maine
There are two varieties of kids toothpaste offered by Tom’s of Maine. The Children’s Anticavity Fluoride toothpaste is the only natural toothpaste to receive the ADA seal of acceptance. It comes in two flavors: Silly Strawberry and Outrageous Orange-Mango. The Children’s Fluoride-Free toothpaste comes in Silly Strawberry flavor only and it’s what my kids and I tried, thanks to Tom’s of Maine providing us with free samples. My kids loved the flavor, and I loved that it wasn’t super-sweet like most kids toothpastes. That’s because it’s flavored with natural fruit extracts. My youngest actually loved the new strawberry flavor so much he tried to brush his teeth twice the first time we tried it.

I have four kids that are 5 and under, so I am still brushing all of their teeth, instead of them doing it alone. I always use teeth brushing time as teaching time. I make up educational songs, teach them their books of the Bible, and teach them how to count in number intervals ( for example: 2,4,6,8, 10, 12…") so that they will already know their multiplication tables when we cover those in school. Anything I can think of new to teach them – I do it during this time. I have their undivided attention for two minute intervals, where they can't make a sound, and all they can do is listen to mom. :) They love teeth brushing time! – Allyson

We've done several things to get my kids to open wide! One of the things was "Show me your monster teeth" so they would roar and open their mouth. Another thing is saying there are "bad guys" on their teeth, and I sing the Superman theme song (from the old cartoons) while Superman (the toothbrush) swoops in and takes out those bad guys, complete with sound effects by me! Very silly, but it works.
My son's toothbrush plays the Indiana Jones Theme so I know he is getting the job done, but sometimes catches be off guard.
thanks forthe chance to win! my daughter doesn't have teeth yet:) but will probably soon! so this would be a great start. – mary
Brush, brush, brush your teeth, brush them nice and clean. Brush the tops, brush the bottoms, brush them in between! (Sing to the tune of Row Your Boat)
No routines here…but I do keep toothpaste and toothbrushes here at my house for my grandkids. They love to brush their teeth and it is never a problem when we say it is time to brush. We get to brush first and then we let them brush.
Silly question maybe..? You said you'd contact people by email if they won; I entered the contest – but there's no email field in the form… Maybe I'm not seeing the whole form?
My kids LOVE this toothpaste and are always trying to get me to let them brush their teeth. I never thought too much tooth brushing would be my problem.
We don't really have any silly routines (maybe I'll get some ideas here) but I do tend to make silly sounds as I help them brush their teeth. It gets them to laugh/smile which makes it easier to brush.
We don't have a brush your teeth song, but we do have contests of who can stand on one leg the longest :)
