Read this post at BeCentsable about one of their reader’s experience using printable coupons at Walmart, and the news story that followed.
I’ve written about Walmart’s coupon policy here. Please contact corporate by making a phone call if you feel that your Walmart is not accepting your printable coupons even though they should according to their corporate policy. I encourage my readers to be an empowered consumer, it’s an opportunity to learn and many times you will find that your store does want you to be a satisfied customer.
Response to Comment #10 – If Walmart is no longer accepting coupons issued by Coupons.com (one of the largest sources of printable coupons, used by many large companies), then I would hope they would update their Coupon Policy to reflect that. Until they do, I encourage everyone to call corporate and question them if they have problems redeeming legitimate printable coupons at their store. Every store is different, and every cashier handles coupons a little differently. So each person’s experience can vary widely across all of the stores across the country. I’ll be posting something new as soon as I hear something official!-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom
Nini -Nini -I recommend that you call corporate Walmart at 1-800-Wal-mart to clarify what their coupon policy is. The “Veri-fi” coupons are issued by Coupons.com (corrected my previous response) and they should accept them. For coupons that have a higher value than the product, they should adjust them down so that you get the product for free.-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom
I shopped at Walmart today and was turned down and told that Walmart got a corporate wide email stating that they would no longer be taking the veri-fi.com coupons and I live in Florida (not the ghetto or some small town) as was rudely posted by someone else back on October 13.
HiI am the first time user for the internet print out coupons. I took my coupons to Wal-mart in New Mexico the other day. The cashier told me that they dont take coupons from veri-fi.com and coupons with overage. Is this true? Nini
walmart, target in atlanta ,they dont accept internet coupons…i pick all items to check out they say no coupons accepted.
I was told by a Walmart cashier as long as the coupon scans they will take the coupon. I guess it just depends if you get a nice cashier or not.
Goodness graciousI don’t know why there is so much talk about Wal-mart and Target not accepting internet printables lately?I have never run into such problems in my area, even one that did not scan at Target they gladly accepted. And the prices in FL are higher than the national average so you would think that that would be more strict here. Most of you people live in small towns with low cost of living where the prices are like 40 cents less per item so I don’t know why you are all having so many problems. Could it be that these stores are located in the ghetto or a rough area and for this reason there is so much problems?-Suzy
I just wanted to add my “two cents” in to this topic. Lately, I have had terrible experiences at WalMart as well. I have even tried to go to a couple of different WalMarts. (Living in the Bay Area provides many WalMarts within a short distance.) I have been treated VERY rudely. However, I have had the cashier call the manager several times….(depending on my time limitations). I will ask the manager where it is posted or stated that they DON’T accept printable coupons. And usually….they say “uh…uh…uh…” and will allow me to use my coupons. Some have said …”Well, you can use them this time only.” But I will continue to use them until I see an official document that states otherwise. I have also started carrying the WalMart policy with me….this is VERY helpful.
Morning,My Wal-Mart in Logan OH does not accept coupons, I went in to Wal-mart with a fistful of coupons that I had spent time printing and cutting and after 2 weeks worth of shopping I got up to the register and was treated rudely! The cashier said that they had just been informed to not take coupons..there was not a letter of this on their front doors…I asked if they could call the manager and so she did in front of me but the head manager didn’t even come out to speak to me in person…then the cashier turned down some of my manufact. because she read the dates wrong..I was treated like I was cheap! I will not go back to that Wal-mart to shop again! I’m still fuming at how I was treated! Thanks for listening,Heather
I carry a copy of their policy in with my coupons (as well as other stores). So far….I’ve not had to whip it out. :)
I JUST got denied yesterday for the first time with my internet printables (which were in color). Thank you for posting this, as I was wondering if something changed suddenly! I will be calling corporate today. It’s a shame that the unethical coupon practices of some people have to make it difficult for us all. =(
Thanks for sharing this story. I could go on and on about the bad experiences I have had.
