*Expired* 6 Free Valentine’s Cards Shipped

by Freebies4Mom on January 21, 2009 8:38 am

This great offer has ended. I got my cards in the mail and I’m thrilled with them!
Visit Stories by Everyone and you will get 6 Free Photo Valentine’s Cards including free shipping! Just click on “Create your Valentines Now” to get started and remember to use the code valentine at checkout under “Have a coupon?” to take advantage of this free offer. Click on “Recalculate” after you enter your coupon code to see that your order is $0 with free shipping. Your box of 6 cards would normally cost $5.34 before shipping. You do not have to enter any credit card information, simply click on “Submit your order” and leave that form blank. You should receive a confirmation by email for your order.

This photo website is by Scrapbooks Etc (a Better Homes and Garden magazine). There are 10 different Valentines designs, I choose the “Howdy Valentine” design because I have a great photo of my boys with their cowboy hats. My order went thru successfully and the total was $0.00. This offer expires on February 1, 2009.

Here are click-by-click instructions on how to create your free Valentine’s photo card and redeem this free offer:

1. I had to use Internet Explorer as my web browser for this offer because when I used Firefox I was unable to upload any photos. If you are having problems, try switching to IE.

2. Go to

3. Click on the red box “Create your Valentines Now” in the bottom right-hand corner.

4. Select one of the ten Valentine’s Cards by clicking on the design you want

5. Click on the green button “build now”

6. Account Setup: create a new account by entering your first name, last name, email address and password. You can uncheck the box if you don’t want to receive the weekly update newsletter from Scrapbooks etc.

7. Click on “Upload Photos” button below the preview of the design you selected. Or you can click on the “My Photos” in the top menu and then click on “Upload Photos”.

8. Click on “Add Photos” and select a photo from your computer to upload.

9. Click on “Start Upload”

10. After you’ve successfully uploaded your photo, click on the text link “Go back to My Photos”

11. Click on “Back to Book” button in the top right-hand corner. They use the term “book” to refer to any photo project including cards.

12. You will see the Valentine card design you previously selected with your uploaded photo below it. Click on your photo and drag it onto the card.

13. Select the blue “Edit” button in the top right-hand corner of the photo to make changes to your photo and the border. Then click on “Done” button.

14. Click the “Preview” button to look at your design and confirm that you are done with your editing.

15. Click the “Order” button below the preview of your photo card.

16. Click “Continue Checkout” because the default package size is “Box of 6” and that is what the free offer is for.

17. You’ll see your Shopping Cart with a subtotal of $5.34. You need to enter the coupon code valentine in the box under the text “Have a coupon?”

18. Click on “Recalculate” button after you enter the coupon code and you will see your subtotal change to $0.00.

19. Fill out your mailing address under the “Billing Information” then click the box at the bottom to copy it over to the “Shipping Information”. Click on the “Next” button.

20. You should see your order summary with a total of $0.00. Click on the “Next” button.

21. Don’t fill out any credit card information! Just leave it blank and click on “Place Order”

22. You’re done! You’ll see an Order Summary and you’ll also receive an email with your order number.

Thanks Heather. Love your site!

Heather February 1, 2009 at 9:12 am

Response to Comment #71 – I have not heard of anyone else having to pay tax, but my guess is it might have to do with the state you live in and their sales tax laws. You should ask your question directly to Stories by Everyone.-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom

Anonymous February 1, 2009 at 8:42 am

they charged me tax, but I didn’t put in my credit card. Do I have to pay this tax?

Kristy January 31, 2009 at 10:30 pm

Anne B January 25, 2009 at 7:18 pm

After numerous attempts and almost giving up I read Let31's post about Firefox working. I had tried Safari, Firefox, Opera, & IE on my Mac, and IE on two different Windows computers. Then I tried Firefox on XP and it worked! Thanks so much!

Jennifer January 24, 2009 at 8:11 pm

I can’t get it to upload pics. I click “Add Photos” and it does nothing. I’ve tried several times. I’ve tried Safari, Camino, and Firefox. Sounds like this just works for some people but not others! I think they have a few kinks to work out.

Tams* January 23, 2009 at 11:31 pm

WHEN I ENTER COUPON CODE IT GIVES ME A MESSAGE:You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘AND OD.coupon_text LIKE “%VAlETINE%” ON LINE 6WHAT IS THIS?

Anonymous January 23, 2009 at 10:39 am

I got in later on in the evening last night & designed an adorable little card for my DD's Grandparents. I just know they're going to love the personalization!!! I had a problem with Firefox not allowing certain things, so I just did it in an Internet Explorer browser instead. Thank you so much for letting us know about this one!!! X's & O's,Kelly E.Richmond, VA

Elsa January 22, 2009 at 7:02 pm

I was finally able to complete my order, YAY!!! I am so excited and cannot wait to get them. I took several pics today of my son and thankfully got one nice one!! It is the perfect amount for me. I will be sending one to each my parents, my Hubby’s parents, my son’s 2 uncles and his aunt and one will be left for me to add to his scrapbook!!! Thanks Heather for posting this!! You are the best!!!!

Rebekah January 22, 2009 at 4:37 pm

I’ve gotten to the checkout and it won’t take the coupon code. It gives me a message that says:You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘AND OD.coupon_text LIKE ‘%VALENTINE%” at line 6Yikes, I’m frustrated.

Jill January 22, 2009 at 4:26 pm

I’m using IE and when I click on “add photos” it just sits there and nothing happens????

Wade's World January 22, 2009 at 2:24 pm

amanda jane January 22, 2009 at 1:33 pm

Super easy, my husband and I did it last night using safari on my mac. No problems at all…excited that we are sending cards to the family, we are always the ones that never give out cards for anything because I always forget!

Kat January 22, 2009 at 12:45 pm

you do have to use IE as your browser as it won’t work with firefox as Heather said it also won’t work with safari or mozilla for you MAC users you can download IE from microsoft and use it as a back up browser like I do

tanyetta January 22, 2009 at 12:32 pm

thank you for the step by step instructions! you’re a saint 😉

Heather January 22, 2009 at 11:41 am

To Everyone – I’ve just updated this post with click-by-click instructions! Please read them to see if they can answer your question. I had problems using Firefox, so switched to Internet Explorer to upload my photo. Good luck!-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom

Dissa January 22, 2009 at 11:28 am

For people have problem with “no book”before hit the build button, try to drg and drop your photo on the card at left side. then the upload page will be opened with instructions. Also if you have problem with download the web page through link ‘stories by everyone’ in this blog, simply go to google and search for stories.scrapbooksetc.

Anonymous January 22, 2009 at 10:51 am

please can someone say “How to upload a photo?” I was not able to find a button to upload a photo. I tried for long time.

Anonymous January 22, 2009 at 9:31 am

Anonymous January 22, 2009 at 9:29 am

You can only use it once per user.

Anonymous January 22, 2009 at 9:05 am

I just saw your response Heather–it doesn’t give me the option to upload a photo once I pick out my card. I don’t know what the deal is.

Pamela January 22, 2009 at 8:58 am

i tried this yesterday and could not get in, today it worked fine and my total at check out was 0$s. i’m so excited and can’t wait for them to

Anonymous January 21, 2009 at 6:04 pm

Does anyone know if we can create more than one account or is it one order per household?

Heather January 21, 2009 at 4:38 pm

Response to Comment #6 – I think that they call your project a “book”. So just pick out your Valentine’s card design, then upload a photo. It is possible that their website might still be experiencing some problems from the heavy traffic they are getting for this offer. You might want to try again later and see if it works better then.-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom

Anonymous January 21, 2009 at 4:30 pm

I don’t understand how to do this–it keeps saying I have no book.

Heather January 21, 2009 at 12:03 pm

Sarah – I had the same problem when I tried to download the program (using Firefox). But I just switched over to Internet Explorer and it worked fine!-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom

Anonymous January 21, 2009 at 11:50 am

I couldn;t upload my pics :(I tried to download the drag program, but I got an error msd that said “install script not found” :(

Ginger January 21, 2009 at 11:46 am

I sure am going to keep trying, this would be neat for my family

Time4mom2 January 21, 2009 at 10:58 am

This website is definitely overloaded!!! I tried for an hour to get past the registration, when I did, then I couldn’t finish checking out. I would recommend not to try and do this during peak hours.
