I did this promotion last year so it’s nothing new. You just go in, wait for the hairdresser, have him/her wash your hair, blowdry it, and than style (as the title shows). I went with a friend and she tried the straightening while I tried the voluming. Our hair looked a bit of the same when we were finished. We tipped the hairdresser for their free service (as is custom) and left. I’d rather get a regular haircut that includes the wash, blowdry, style part than do the Ulta thing again. Bleh.
made an appointment, but they had to fit me in after the promotion time ends on thursday. it seems they have been getting calls like crazy, and I wouldnt say the lady on the phone was “overly friendly” as she seem frustrated I called and in a hurry to get my info, but she did book me in a time slot, that is technically not in the promotion.
i asked her if you are supposed to tip on the value of a similar service if you were paying for it, and she said “i’ve never been asked that question”. she said it would take about 20 minutes…im guessing??
thanks for this freebie! :)

@MrsD05:disqus –That stinks! I would have thought that “style” would include flat ironing at the very least. They always try to upsell but that’s a little ridiculous to me.
Just called & made an appointment. Basically what they will do is shampoo your hair using the products that they are highlighting and then they will dry your hair. If you need anything else when your hair is styled it isn’t included (flat ironing, etc). Also, if you need a haircut you can’t book at a discounted rate using this as a “discount” since shampooing & blow drying are normally included in a cut. I’ll probably just cancel my appointment and go to my normal salon since it won’t be any cheaper and I need a haircut anyway.
They’re trying to sell it as some kind of great pampering experience but it doesn’t seem like much of a freebie to me. :-(
