I always look for the Fresh Express salads with the orange “Manager’s Special” stickers at my Kroger because they are really cheap (sometimes free) by combining that clearance price with a coupon. I do carefully look at the contents of the bag before buying. Many times these salads are a day or two from the expiration date, but sometimes they just have too many salads and are trying to clear out some of the closer expiration dates.

i miss kroger for that reason – we got a lot of great deals on manager’s specials – meat and donuts were our faves…
I just bought two bags of salad last night with the Manager’s Special sticker on it. They looked just as good as the “newer” bags and we were using them last night, so it worked out great! I forgot my coupons when I went to the store, but if I had had them, I would have only paid $.50 per bag. Not bad!
