Thanks for this opportunity! I’m a SPED teacher for students with severe Autism and health impairments. I am buying some new clothes, things for my house, and of course, things for my classroom!!! THANK YOU! :)
Thanks for the chance to win!!
To the person that said those professions make plenty of money: You’re kidding, right?! I can’t vouch for everyone, but my husband is a 24 year law enforcement officer and you would absolutely LAUGH at his salary. We barely make it, and live paycheck to paycheck. And, I also work (my salary is laughable as well) in a daycare. But I love my life, I am very blessed and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Money isn’t everything. I can’t believe you made such a blanket statement on a giveaway for heroes. Seriously? If I were you, I’d be embarrassed.
I’m with Shannon – wondering why Sears doesn’t include EMS Workers on their list of heros?? Also, the list doesn’t say anything about Volunteer Firefighters/EMS. Surely they are included too. Right?
Thanks for the “Salute to Heroes giveaway”. We may be Heroes to many people, but we also volunteer (With no pay) and do it because we love what we do. It is hard work and never have regrets. So, thanks for recognize what we stand for. We see a lot of hurt, pain, loss, and sadness in our work, but this always motivates to want to do more for others. We also see the good that comes out of what we can do for many people.
This is special, thanks.
Just wondering my EMS workers are never recognized as hero’s? My husband is a paramedic and works 911 calls and not only has he saved a lot of lives in his line of work, but he has also delivered 2 healthy babies on his own.
I know that this is not your giveaway but Sears. Its just being sponsored on your blog.
But for real This is a FRUGAL blog. What would any of these professions like :
# Police
# Military
# Veteran
# Firefighter
# Hospital Staff be lurking around a blog like this???
The only exception would be a teacher. All the rest make plenty of money they do not need to be reading here.
Now if the giveaway was for a student, I am sure there would be tons of readers here who would enter
Just my opinion.
Does a preschool teacher qualify as a teacher? I hope so, would love to win to buy christmas for my kids and my class!
I entered for my brother in law, hope that is okay. He is in the army and I wanted to send this to him.I am sure it will be easy for him to prove his army status. Is it okay that I entered for him?

I was hospital staff before I retired but since I am not working now, I won’t be entering. My husband, who is a veteran & active in the veteran community will be entering instead. Thank you for the very kind and generous contest!
Does this include family members for military? My husband is military but overseas.
I’m sure you can enter for your hubby. I don’t think Sears will be super strict about who “qualifies”.
Nice giveaway. One question, I get teachers as heroes, but why aren’t Librarians on the list? ;)
We just got stationed in a new city and we have a house now and we need a Push Mover. I will use the discount you mentioned. Thank you so much!!
Love the way Sears gives back to our military. A few years ago, they did a Christmas money giveaway and it definitely helped make our boys Christmas a special one! Thank you Sears and Kmart for supporting our troops and their families!
Thanks! Great giveaway……husband is in the Navy and after moving here from Hawaii our income has been cut in half…..
Sears is always good to the military so we always make sure to shop at Sears.
This is why we love sears! My husband is in the Army and they have always been wonderful to our family!
I am starting school on October 5th, and I would use the gift card to buy me and my kids some winter clothes. I have went up and down in sizes during my pregnancies so I don’t a lot to wear to school. My daughter is starting Preschool when I go back to school and she needs some winter clothes and my son is growing too tall for his 4T pants and I would need to get him some 5Ts. My husband has been losing so much weight working seven days a week just so that I could go back to school and finish my degree and he needs some smaller pants for the winter.
I will shop for a new TV which we need desperately.
This is a wonderful giveaway. I read that Sears picked the service professions that could apply. I have always wondered why linemen are not considered heros. Think about what they do and how they put their lives on the line everyday they go to work.
I am a nurse n husband a firefighter. Sears sounds like a great place to shop Sat.
I forgot to enter my occupation I hope that is ok! If you need it I am a Emergency Room Tech ! Thanks Beth ! Love all the freebies!
I just went this past weekend and spent $25 purchasing clothing for a student. I wasn’t able to get her a whole lot, just a few basics that are the correct size. I have another student in need and would like to more clothing items including dress shoes and underclothes. This would be a great way to do it. Plus, I also have four of my own children that will need various items for the cool weather months. Thanks for this opportunity!
thank you for showing support for my husband and all soliders.
How nice of you to do this for people!
Thanks for hosting this giveaway and bringing these heroes to light. Its so easy to forget those important people in our own communities.
Thank you for this chance to give back to two of my kiddos. I can only spend so much of my own money or do raise funds for them.
