Looking for that perfect gift for your hard-working dad? The Home Depot gift cards are the perfect gift for Father’s Day and in this giveaway one of my lucky readers will win a $100 The Home Depot gift card. Plus I’ve got a great Father’s Day gift that you can make that will cost you very little.
Visit your local The Home Depot to find three new gift card styles to choose from, including a gift card that looks and feels like duct tape and a gift card that comes with a FREE 3/8” drill bit! I love this new Drill Bit gift card available in stores. I know that any Dad would think that was really handy.
Help dad do more this Father’s Day by giving him a gift card from The Home Depot. I recommend considering giving The Home Depot gift cards for any celebratory occasion because they have stuff there that we all need – like light bulbs and supplies for any home improvement project. Ok, they have fun stuff too so don’t feel like your practical gift can’t be fun! They sell all kinds of decor for your house, and it’s always fun to shop for new tools to use around the house or for a hobby. There are over 500 gift ideas for under $50.
And if you use Ebates for your online purchases, you should know that you can earn 5% cash back right now and new Ebates users get a $5 sign-up bonus. Maybe you could even tell your gift recipient about Ebates and help them maximize that gift card? I always try to use my gift cards at Ebates to make the gift go further.
Here’s a Father’s Day paver that we made this weekend that is easy to make and very budget-friendly. My friend Lisa showed us how to make one last year and I can’t believe how well the paint has held-up thanks to the sealer used. I picked up a red paver for $1.28 and a spray can of Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Glass Clear to seal in the paint both at The Home Depot. We painted craft paint onto my sons’ hands and they were actually really cooperative in placing their hand on the paver without moving it. I recommend sealing it when the kids aren’t anywhere close by and using several coats (let it dry between coats). I wrote “2009” on it to mark this Father’s Day and we’ll be surprising my husband with it by placing it in the yard for him to find.
If you haven’t already entered, please check out my $500 The Home Depot giveaway before it closes on June 23. You can enter both the $100 and the $500 giveaways.

I would use to replace the shrubs in the front yard.
I'm actually the one who tinkers around the house with the improvement projects. I'd use it to build a DVD organizer for my partner; he's a photographer and one of his backup methods are DVDs, and he's been keeping them on the spools for years, which leads to a lot of confusion when he needs a specific shoot! And then I'd use it to build the planned birthday present for my son: a three-sided play unit with a kitchen, places for blocks and construction toys, and drawing station!
I would give it to my husband so he could finish the deck he started to build 3 years ago.
I would let my son give it to his Dad for Fathers day, it would make them both real happy to go get some stuff they could do together in the garden and yard. Thanks for such a great giveaway.
I would give this to my wonderful sister, who takes care of all the gardening at our two-flat. I think she might use it to buy vegetables and flowers and supplies. I appreciate all her hard work!
Well, I couldn't find your outdoor journal so I thought I would tell you what I need the gift card for. I am a single mother who has no other support than my job. I have put my son in private school since March as we have just found out he has aspergers. I am totally stressed out, my brother from Virginia ( I live in NC) comes every 2 weeks to cut my grass for me. I have to have surgery next week on the 25th and I think that if I could get my yard looking nice, a few trees, kill the weeds in the "flower bed" and get some hanging plants, my outside of my house would look better. Thanks for the givaway.. cjcmommy@gmail.com
Love your blog!! I will keep my fingers crossed!!
Our microwave died and I would use this money to purchase a new one. We have already done our father's day shopping!
The GC would go towards a lawn mower. The poor thing I have is on it's last leg. The self propel quit three years ago; and starting last year, there a wheel that keeps falling off….
My husband has been laid off and is using his "spare" time to complete all of the unfinished projects around the house. Because funds are limited, but the projects are not, the gift card would come in handy to help him complete some projects that he has not been able to due to the unexpected loss of income. Thanks for this great giveaway!!!
Either my dad or my husband! It would go toward garage siding or fencing material…sounds real fun huh!Marianne
I'd give it to my brother-in-law. I owe him money!!! :(
I would give the gc to my mom. She has an old house and is always needed to do repairs on it but she doesn't have a lot of money. My husband and I have bought her Home Depot gc before and given her to do needed repairs also.
I would give this to my Dad-an amazing Dad and Paps that does so much for me and my boys.
I would use it to get paint for the new baby's nursery!
I would give it to my husband, who is celebrating his first father's day with our newborn son and because he just left the military and can now do the projects he always dreamed of…
I would give it to my son who is starting his own small contracting business
I would give it too my hubby. He would love this. Seeming how money is really tight. he already has his Fathers Day gift 2 weeks ago for camping trip but he has some things he wants at home depot so this would be great!
My husband would love and really use this!Wisdom family:)
I'd give it to my husband, who is always in need of something from Home Depot!! =)
oh…and I love the paver idea!! So cute. I am going to have all of the grandkids put their handprints on one for Gramma
I'd def give it to my hubby, as my father is not very handy. My dad's main goal in life was to be able to make enough $ so that he could call someone to fix something and not have to do it on his own. My husband is just the opposite. No matter how much we make, he will always try to do it on our own. I agree with him though, it's fun to learn/do things around the house together.
I would give this card to my husband because I know he wants to do alot of little things around our home, but budget is hard.
I would totally give it to my handsome and ever so talented husband for Father's Day…but unfortunatley, I cannot say I would give it in a totally altruistic manner. Sure, he may buy a nifty tool with it, but then he would be using it to fix up our house. I love giving gifts where I benefit as well :)
My Dad, he's my DAD!
we're trying to build an addition OURSELVES…lots of hidden expenses (who knew screws were so expensive and that you'd need so many???)- would be nice to have a gift card for all those things!
We have been trying to landscape ourselves and new planters would be a beautiful addition to our patio. My husband would love to know that we could do that with your help!!!
We definitely need new flowers!
To my husband, he have 3 works….. he deserve it. :)
Flowers, flowers and more flowers!!!
The Home Depot has the perfect fence to keep my pup in!Whitney couponlover323@gmail.com
I would give it to my dad bc it gives him something to do besides driving my mom crazy! :-)Victoria age 15
I would give it to my husband, but then hope he uses it for a new floor!
We just brought a new house and my hubby is excited in making a happy home for our newborn son and has sooo many ideas that he wants to do in and around the house. This would be a very nice surprise!
I would love to win this for my husband! He is so handy – he made a crib and changing table for our son, as well as our entertainment center! We are aabout a month away from moving into our first home and I am sure he would love the gift card to help get the yard fixed up!
I would give to my DH and then off to Home Depot we go!!We need to fix up the bathroom and I love to shop!! Yeah!Thanksmatternu@aol.com
I would give the card to my husband. He always is need of something there
I would give it to my wonderful husband who more than deserves a shopping spree (although, knowing him, he would use it for something we need!).
My husband would be thrilled! I even think he'd like it better than the handmade t-shirt we made him last year…maybe ;)
Being a widow who raised her son completely on my own I would gift this to myself. It would be used for projects around my house (you name it I can fix it) but also my mother's since I do all the "manly" stuff around her house too. And I need a chainsaw for prjects at both homes!!
Since my dad doesn't live in the US I can't bless him if he wins. My second choice would be my husband who could fix our porch. That would be awsome!
I would give the gift card to my dad! We were both recently admiring the new Craftsman hammer. He would be thrilled to get it. Thanks!!
This would go to my hubby!!!! He is a very handy man and ALWAYS has a project going on. Plus he works so hard for us he deserves it!!!!!
This is great. How sweet and wonderful to give this.I would give it to my husband who has just returned from over seas for 17 months. We are relocating to CA and are in need of some appliances for the new house. Thanks,The Tanksley Family
My sweet husband he needs a new drill badly!
My honey, because he is impossible to shop for, and He could ALWAYS spend money in Home Depot!
I would give this to my Dad, he makes fabulous things and always has great projects going.
My husband would love this and if I won I'd get him the clever looking drill bit gift card that comes with a free 3/8” drill bit. Thanks for chance at another great giveaway!vinter@warwick.net
I would give it to my husband… a great spouse and daddy to our two little boys (who will no doubt "help" him with his projects)
I would give it to my daughters boyfriend. He is working 2 jobs and is going to be a 1st.time home owner very soon .He can use a little help.It would put a big smile on his face. Thanks for the chance.
I would give that gift card to my sweetheart. He works 8+ hours outside of the home and spends a killer 3+ hours on the road per day. I am grateful he has a job in this economy, but the commute is really wearing on him. I'd love for him to have a splurge at Home Depot – one of his favorite places to wander.Great Father's Day ideas! Thanks!!
I would give this to my husband who is about to be a first time daddy! He does so much for me and his soon to be arriving daughter that he deserves to be able to do something for himself!
That is a really great craft idea! I think I might have to use that one this year! Thanks for posting it! :-)
I would definitely give it to my husband. He works so hard a deserve something special, just for him!
I would give this to my husband, it would help with the hunny-do-list that he has and we never have enough money to get it done.
To my deserving hubby that is a wonderful father. We are both not big gift people so he usually doesn't get anything. This would make him happy. We would get drywall and other items for the house.
I would give it to my hubby because he just spent 3 DAYS putting together a playset for the kiddos. He is AWESOME – there is NOTHING he cannot do!
This will go to my hubby so he can buy the tool he needs to finish our flooring in our house.
It would be a gift to my husband. We have LOTS of projects on the to-do list and are knocking them off as budget allows. He'd be thrilled to get a few more going!
I would give it to my husband as a gift from our daughter for Father's Day. She's only 1, she doesn't really get the gift thing yet but she's old enough to hand her "dada" a card!
I would give this gift card to my husband. We have so many little projects to do around the house, but not a lot of bucks to pay for it (he cringes when I start talking about projects). This would be perfect! Thanks!
Avanti Avanti – I used regular craft paint (the kind in the little plastic bottles that they sell at Michaels) for the blue handprints, I'm pretty sure it's safe to use on the skin but of course you should wash it off as soon as you've gotten the impression on the paver. But the sealer is something you don't want to use if any kids or pets are in the area because the fumes are quite strong.-HeatherFreebies 4 Mom
I would give the giftcard to my father in law. he has helped us w/ so much since we had our twins. he built a fence so they can play in the back yard of our rental. drives two hours one way every other weekend to spend time w/ the boyst & give us a break
The paver idea is absolutely adorable – how great and so reasonable. Was the paint safe for children and pets? I am thinking of doing this with paw prints. But I think I might just get paper or a towel and have my dogs walk through the mud then on the towel. Then I could copy them and paint it onto the paver. Great Idea! Thanks for sharing it.
This would go to my dad. He saves them up and then buys amazing things, like last year's $1500 gas grill. He's taught me all about frugalness through the years!
I would give this to my beautiful husband-whom deserves it considering all my sweeps wins go to me so he finally deserves something good luck all.
id give it to my husband! he deserves some fun at home depot :)
