Sorry you missed this deal. You’ll love the current Hot Deals

Participate in the Hunger Is campaign at Randalls or any of the Albertsons family of stores to help end childhood hunger in America. Together we can make a difference and provide meals to children who need them the most. Please join me in participating in Hunger Is between September 1 and 30 at your local Randalls, Albertsons, Safeway, Vons Pavilions, Jewel-Osco, United Supermarkets, Tom Thumb, Acme, Star Market, Shaws, Carrs, Market Street or Amigos. For every participating product that you purchase, $0.10 is donated from Hunger Is to benefit your local community (up to $1 Million nationally). Their goal is to expand breakfast programs in order to provide children with a healthy start to their day.

The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness, volunteer hours and funds to improve healthy outcomes for hungry children and their families. It’s a fact that one in five children in America live in households without consistent access to adequate food. Nearly half of eligible children do not receive free or reduced price school breakfast. Let’s help connect hungry kids with healthy food! Look for signs at your store indicating participating brands and products.

I shopped at my local Randalls store with my son to purchase participating brands in the Hunger Is campaign. Look for participating items on your grocery store shelves because when you purchase them it will trigger a meal donation. We bought 10 participating products to trigger a donation of $1.00. I love that my participation means my local food banks will receive assistance thanks to the Albertsons Foundation and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF).

I printed the participating products from the website and had my son assist me in finding them in the store. Of course we had coupons to use too and many products were on sale. We talk with our kids about the importance of helping others in need, and helping kids who don’t have as much as we do. They are really motivated to help other kids like them and are always eager to participate in local food and toy drives to help our community.

There are two ways to participate in supporting Hunger Is during the month of September. You can buy participating products to trigger a $0.10 donation. Visit Randalls.com then scroll down and click on the participating brands to see the participating products that trigger a donation. There are 46 participating brands including Campbell’s, Goldfish, Pepperidge Farm, Country Crock, Marie Callendar’s, PaperMate, Suave, Skintimate, Bayer, Quaker and Peet’s Coffee.

You can also make a donation when you checkout (available in select regions and stores) by adding $1, $3, $5 or any amount to your purchase. Not all stores have donation options available at the register. I asked the cashier at my Randalls store and he said donations at the register are available.
