Thanks to Thrifty Decorating, where Christy empowers you with the skills to do your own decorating and home improvements frugally, we know that The Home Depot is a great place to take a free workshop and get a coupon. And Christy shares her own tips for “Conserving Water in Your Garden” based on her experience.
Make a date with The Home Depot on Monday, May 19 from 7-8:30 pm. They are hosting a free Landscaping and Outdoor Water Conservation workshop, and those who attend recieve a “$10 off $100 purchase” coupon. I’d love to go to this because I need all the help I can get in the green thumb area – and you never know when a home improvement project needs a coupon to help it along, but alas I can not make the date. I’d love to hear from any of my readers who attend!
Speaking of The Home Depot, I’ve been reminded by my friend Jennifer that it is a great place to take your kids and make something cool together. Mark your calendar for June 7 to make a Catamaran! They offer free Kids Workshops from 9 to noon on the first Saturday of each month. I’d love to hear from my readers who attend the Kids Workshops – what kind of cool things have you made?

You can also get a coupon from Home Depot for $10 off a $50 purchase(for use in the gardening department). Just go to Home Depot.com and sign up for their garden club(when you get to the Home Depot website click on outdoors and then click on garden center, the garden club should be listed there). I got mine in the mail this weekend. I think we’re going to use it toward a wheelbarrow.
So bummed! None of the Home Depot stores near me (03801) are offering this class tonight. I was so excited for it.
My oldest sons favorite build was at Lowes and it was a first aid box. We still use it today to hold all the misc band-aids that seem to scatter throughout the cupboard.I took my 3 yr old son to his first build last month and did the land sail at Lowes. It fell apart before we even got home. But I use hot glue like men use duct tape. There is nothing that hot glue can’t fix!
and don’t forget that lowes does the kiddo event every two weeks! there will be on next weekend :)our lowes even has a clown that comes and does face painting and balloon animals. the kids love it.
Dad & 4 1/2 year old son had lots of fun making a periscope! Not a very useful craft, but they had a wonderful morning together.
My husband took our 21-month-old boy to make a planter box in April. Even a baby can pound things with a hammer apparently. I use the planter box to put coupons as I trim them before transferring them to my sorted coupon binder. And baby screams “Ham! Ham! I work!” proudly every time he sees the box.
