Remember the Ace Hardware Memorial Day free-bates? I used them to put together a frugal Father’s Day Gift – it’s a practical car washing kit and after I receive my rebate money it was FREE. I completely covered the outside of the bucket with photos of our boys, the prints were leftover from my Arts Cow order . I used a car wash bucket that we already had (no reason to buy a new one) – it was a great way to “package” this car washing kit!
What frugal gifts are you giving for Father’s Day?
I got a great deal for my husband at Bath & Body Works. Went in with my $10 coupon off the men’s line (received in the mail; expires tomorrow), only to find the entire line was buy one get one free! So, I got a $10 body wash/shampoo and a matching $10 shaving cream (nice stuff!) for FREE!
I got a coupon from coupons.com a few months ago for a free wall portrait at Sears portrait, and I also had a 3.99 coupon for two 5’7 photos with a Father’s Day background. The girls and I went to Sears, took some adorable pictures, and paid FAR less than we were meant to because of the coupons.
I used an empty super sized can of infant formula ( the can was free from my sister), I peeled the label off, added white contact paper (left over from when I lined our cabinets). Then I used small pictures (from old print preview sheets)and “framed” them (I used colored tape to make the frames). My daughters decorated the can using Jeff Gordan stickers (I purchased these last year on sale for $1 a sheet). When the girls were finished decorating I cut a slit in the top and we created a bank for my husband.
Cool idea! I am having some troubles coming up with something exactly right for my husband. My dad is much easier.
I thought I had 2 weeks until Father’s Day when I only had 1, so I had to break down and buy gifts. Not too bad, but I wish I would have prepared better! Your Ace freebate gift came out so cute. I love the idea of pics on the bucket!
That is a great gift. “car wash” stuff. Brilliant. I’ll have to watch the ACE sales more closely:)
Great idea. You are very resourceful. I didn’t plan ahead so we bought basketball shorts on sale for $6 and a Worl’ds Greatest Dad shirt on sale for $4.
I made an 18×24 canvas into a large scrapbook page/piece of artwork for us to hang in our home & put words like family, etc. on them, used some free photos I printed from artscow in sepia and modge podged them all onto the canvas! It was under $20! ;) Can’t wait to give it to him!
