*Expired* Saturday’s Speaking of Women’s Health

by Freebies4Mom on May 2, 2008 8:34 pm

Saturday Update: My Walmart was not prepared for this event. They had the books, but didn’t get them out until I asked at Customer Service for one. If I wouldn’t have asked, I kind of doubt they would have realized they were supposed to be giving them out today. And they only had one table set-up with free samples: Kotex and Citracel. So, a little disappointing – with all the great sponsors they have I really thought they would be giving out more free samples. But the book looks fun, it’s colorful and has some recipes in it. If you went to Walmart today, please share your experience by leaving a comment.

Visit Walmart on Saturday between 11 am and 4 pm during their Speaking of Women’s Health Event. They are giving out free copies of the book “A Few Of Our Favorite Things” and they will have free samples from many of their sponsors (a few sponsors that caught my eye include Kellogg’s, Huggies, L’Oreal, Maybelline and Dove chocolate).

I’d love to hear from one of my readers that visits Walmart during this event to hear what they got! I don’t know if all of the stores are participating, since there isn’t a store finder available for this specific event on Walmart’s website.

Thanks for reporting back, Wendy!

My store was handing out the books and samples of calcium supplements and Kotex pads.My store was terribly unprepared for the reusable grocery bag giveaway a few weeks ago. They must have got it together this time around. 😉

Glad you got some samples, Lisa – sorry you were disappointed with the book.

Got the Kotex pads, applesauce sample, cereal and granola bar sample. Picked up the free book but it was boring and I tossed it in the trashcan already.

Thanks for reporting back, Jenna – sounds like every Walmart handled this even differently. But it does seem like a nice book to get, I’ll be browsing the recipes to see if I want to try any of them.

I checked it out today and there was only one table at our Super Wal-Mart as well. The only thing the lady was handing out was the book and the table was pushed back a bit. Wasn’t very exciting but atleast we got the book!

Glad you had a good experience, Twinsz and that your Walmart was more prepared than mine was with lots of free samples! Yes, I don’t think it’s worth going just for the event – but there is usually something on the list so a trip on a day they are giving stuff away makes it a little more fun!

I was at our Walmart and they had 3 tables and one to two freebies at each table. Last year they had it all in one area by the pharmacy, this year it was 2 tables by the check outs and one in the food area. I also got the book which is nice. It has different people (couple of celebrities) talking about their favorite things, some recipes and health information. I don’t know if it was worth going to, but I needed to go to Walmart anyway. It was also nice for the freebies. They had 2 flavors of applesauce, a piece of granola bar, Kotex pads, Ragu with bread and a couple others that I was not interested in. Plus they gave out some information on Poise undergarments and Gardisil.

I checked out our Walmart today and they had a sign but only one table and no freebies. Nuts.
