*Expired* $100 Home Depot Giftcard Giveaway

by Freebies4Mom on December 6, 2008 7:54 am

A gift card to The Home Depot is the perfect gift to give (and receive). One of my lucky readers will be receiving a $100 gift card to The Home Depot.

I recommend considering giving The Home Depot gift card to someone on your list because they have stuff there that we all need – like light bulbs and supplies for any home improvement project. Ok, they have fun stuff too so don’t feel like your practical gift can’t be fun! They sell all kinds of decor for your house, and it’s always fun to shop for new tools to use around the house or for a hobby.

And if you use Ebates for your online purchases, you should know that you can earn 6% cash back right now with double holiday cash back and new Ebates users get $10 cash back on any $10 purchase. Maybe you could even tell your gift recipient about Ebates and help them maximize that gift card?

The Home Depot wants to help you make your gift card fun to give by offering only 17 different holiday styles of gift cards. They offer some unique designs, like this scratch-n-sniff gingerbread cookie that can be decorated with stickers (included), and a gift card covered in what feels like duct tape. They also offer fun gift card holders like this tool box. You know what I was just reminded of to use as a gift card holder? A bucket covered in photos – any old bucket, just wash it and then use those leftover prints you have to decorate it. Here’s an example of a photo bucket I made for a frugal Father’s Day gift. I just want to encourage you to get creative with how you present your gift and remind you that gift cards can be fun to package up creatively.

What a great giveaway! One of my goals for 2009 is to get all of my light bulbs in the house converted to CFLS, and to put many of electronics on surge strips so I can shut them off when I don’t need them (and save energy). I’m also planning to FINALLY do some landscaping in front of my house, too.So… this would be awesome to win! Thanks for a great giveaway!

This would be awesome to win. My husband and I have been wanting to repaint our children’s rooms for them and the many other rooms that they have so kindly decorated for us (haha). This would get us started on painting the house. thanks for the awesome giveaways and for helping me begin to live a more frugal lifestyle and take baby steps into getting debt free.

We live in a rental house in which we are allowed to paint and make other improvements, but we haven’t been willing to put the money into it. This would really bless my home, because I would probably try to do some things to our home with it.

A gift card to Home Depot…well, let me just say it would be a life saver…literally. My son is medically fragile so we need to constantly do home repairs to meet his needs. For example, we needed to install a new fernace so my baby doesn’t turn blue with his heart condition and an air conditioner so he doesn’t get to hot after suffering a 108 fever last year and nearly dying. The other day my hand went through the wall in the bathroom because the dry wall got wet and tiles came off. Since we can’t afford to fix it we have a nice hole in the wall. Repairing the home is an expensive project, yet when your child has necessities that go beyond comfort and are for survival, it becomes more stressful to fix that one more thing in the house. Fingers crossed I win this gift card! Hope everyone has a happy and healthy holiday season and new year. Thanks for listening. Heatherheatherrussell@cox.net

This is a wonderful giveaway! Gosh I feel selfish saying that we would be happy to receive this and not give this if we were to be chosen. We are a military family, who has been through TDY’s, Long TDY’s as well as Deployments and finally my husband is in a position and Duty station where we are stable and will settle. So in Aug of this year, before we PCS’d to WA, we purchased our first house here. Well the house we put our offer on and later purchased is a 4 year old house and was in EX condition when we looked at it and made our offer back in July, well when we left CA in mid August and arrived here after a 16 hours straight through road trip (because military movers were going to be there the next morning at 6:45 am) at 10 pm at night, to our horror, we opened our door the first time as home owners to find the house we just bought was trashed by the previous owners! The carpet was destroyed, the bamboo hard wood floors all scratched up, big gouges in the floor, dents in the walls, paint on the walls all trashed, the house was dirty and the beautiful back yard was overgrown and destroyed, the faucet on out tub in the master bath broken off, 2 toilets broken and all appliances filthy, our microwave went out and unfortunately the list of issues goes on. Now keep in mind we paid full asking price for this house with our VA loan, they just paid closing. This house had sat on the market 90 days no offers the housing market, because like everywhere else the market was tanking. Now this was not a foreclosure, this was supposed to be just a sale based on a military relocation, well it turned out to be also a bitter divorce and a court ordered sale due to the divorce and because of that we were the we were the victims of their issues. So as you can imagine, we have had to put a lot of time and money into this house, which the money part, like so many we don’t have a lot of, especially after just buying the house and relocating here, so that is why this would be a great receive and not give as a gift for someone else on our list. All the best and Happy Holidays, armyofonewife

Everyone seems to be having a tough time finding room in tight budgets for needed improvements. We live in an old farm house and are expecting our first baby and I desperatly need to replace things before the baby comes. We need a new front door (can see daylight at the bottom) and new windows (broken and rotted) to keep bugs out of the house. We also really need siding and reshingle the roof. Would be a very cute house with these things. $100 would really be a good start.

I would love to receive this gift card because I would love to give it to my husband as a Christmas present! We’re newlyweds and recently moved to a small town for my husband’s job. However, I have not been able to find work yet here, so we aren’t able to do Christmas gifts for each other for our first married Christmas. ๐Ÿ™ I would love to be able to surprise my husband with this!By the way, I’m linking to this giveaway in a post I’m currently working on at my blog: http://mrslc.blogspot.com

My husband’s bathroom is in need of repair – new shower surround, flooing, etc. This would really help.

This would be great to get so that we could finish our kitchen floor before my husband leaves next month on deployment.

My husband has been retired for eight months, “bless his heart”, and his “honey do” list is so very long. A gift card from Home Depot would be WONDERFUL and so APPRECIATED!! Right now, since payday is once a month, he can only do maybe one or two small things. This would be a fantastic prize to win. Thank you.

I would use this to FINALLY get rid of the hole in our family room ceiling (from a leaky shower above) before the family comes for Christmas!

Being a single Mom I have had to struggle to get a few christmas presents for my sons. We always had enough and they never complained. They were thankful that we were healthy and had each other. Therefore I would like to use the gift certificate and give them each something for $50/ea. I know they don’t care if I still can’t afford anything, but I would like to see their faces when they saw what I got. Joanne

I love Home Depot. It’s a great place to get outdoor plant for the upcoming spring.
