Meet Luci Inflatable Solar Light

The Luci light is an inflatable solar light the is perfect for emergencies and camping. My kids like to setup the tent in our game room and “camp out” inside our house. The love using the Luci light to read before bed. It’s perfect to take camping because it deflates to be very compact, and of course you charge it with the power of the sun! Other advantages of the Luci light are that it’s waterproof, lightweight and features ultra bright LEDs. There are three modes of operation:  lantern, flashlight and S.O.S mode (for emergencies).
Boys 630I’m going to put our Luci light in our hurricane kit for emergencies. When we experienced Hurricane Ike we were without electricity for over a week. A Luci light would have been super handy during that week! After you charge it in the sunshine, the Luci light can brighten a room for up to 12 hours.

Luci 630How Luci Light Helps #GiveBrighter

In developing countries where they do not have electricity, they use kerosene for light. Using kerosene can be dangerous and the fumes it emits are toxic. It’s also expensive and often causes fires. Luci light brings lights to homes, health clinics and businesses so they can have light when it’s dark. There are about 1.5 billion people around the world that don’t have access to reliable, safe and affordable sources of energy. The Luci light is a great solution to give people light!
 *
Direct Energy partnered with MPOWERD to help bring Luci lights to areas that need them. MPOWERD’s non-profit community partners distribute Luci lights in several countries including Kenya, Haiti, Philippines and Nepal. Through Direct Energy’s efforts, over 10,000 Luci lights have been distributed to families and communities in Haiti and Nepal. When you sign-up for Direct Energy’s Give Brighter 12 Month Electricity Plan, a competitively priced 12-month-fixed-rate electricity plan, MPOWERD will send one Luci light to a developing part of the world and they will send one Luci light to you*!

I would love one of these lights for when the power goes out at my house and also to take camping. I love solar power!

What a great product. Every home should have at least one. Not only would it be useful when the power goes out but could also be a fun “game” to play on a night when you want to conserve electricity and just use the Luci light indoors as you sit around and play board games or tell stories. I am going to check these out for sure.

I care about greening the world, oddly i thot of this concept few yrs back but didn’t follow through when the lightbulb went off.
So thanks for being a bright light beacon; a guide lamp for humanitarian deeds.
