*EXPIRED*Acai Berry Juice 100 bottle Giveaway

by Freebies4Mom on August 24, 2009 3:16 pm

What are you drinking for breakfast? Would you be interested in trying a fruit juice that has 200% of your daily recommended Vitamin C? All You Magazine gave me the opportunity to try Acai Berry Juice made by Genesis Today and I am impressed by the great taste and superior nutrition it offers.

In this giveaway I’m going to give 100 of my lucky readers a coupon to try Acai Berry juice for free! Each winner will receive a coupon by mail to try a 10 oz. bottle of Acai Berry juice, which is sold exclusively at Walmart Supercenters (in the refrigerated juice section).

How does it taste?
This is the first time I’ve tasted any type of acai juice so I didn’t know what to expect. I really liked the flavor, and it reminded me of a mix of blueberry and raspberry juices. When you look at the ingredients the first listed is “100% Pure Acai Puree” and the second listed is “Fruit Juices from Concentrate (pear, apple, pineapple, grape, blueberry, pomegranate, cranberry, black cherry)”. I was worried that this juice might be tart, but I thought it was only very slightly tart – less so than cranberry juice. For the ultimate taste test, I gave it to my children (2 and 4 yrs. old) because they are super picky and won’t drink anything too tart. Guess what – the Acai Berry Juice disappeared quickly and they asked for more!

How much does it cost?
As you would expect, Acai Berry Juice is more expensive than orange juice. But, it is the best value for any acai juice sold in most grocery stores. See that other brand of acai juice just to the left of Genesis Today Acai Berry Juice? The other brand costs $3.92 for 10.5 oz (37 cents per oz). Genesis Today brand costs $1.36 for 10 oz (14 cents per oz). Less than half the price! And if you buy the 64 oz bottle at $6.76 and use the $1 off coupon you spend $5.76 on 64 oz (9 cents per oz). Looks to me like Genesis Today Acai Berry Juice is a great value for the superior nutrition it provides.

Other Brand = 37 cents per ounce
Genesis Today = 14 cents per ounce (if you buy small bottle)
Genesis Today = 9 cents per ounce (if you buy large bottle and use a $1 coupon)

Acai Berry vs. Orange Juice
I spend very little time on preparing breakfast, and my own breakfast usually consists of a glass of orange juice and a bowl of cereal. Since Genesis Today advertises that Acai Berry Juice is nutritionally superior to orange juice I wanted to sit down with my orange juice and make my own comparison. I took a can of the store brand orange juice concentrate from my freezer, and this is what I learned:

Acai Berry Juice is better because it contains:
* 200% of daily recommended Vitamin C – my OJ has 160%
* 100% of daily recommended Thiamine (B1) – my OJ has only 10%
* 100% of daily recommended Folic Acid – my OJ has only 10%
* more good stuff like antioxidants, omega fats, iron, other vitamins
* find the complete nutritional breakdown here

Carol M August 25, 2009 at 7:40 am

Today I'm drinking coffee! But I would love to try this yummy sounding juice. And I love All You!

Doug Cloud August 25, 2009 at 7:39 am

Are one of the ingredients High Fructose Corn Syrup? Sometimes those bottled juices add High Fructose as a sweetener, which is worse than NutraSweet.

Anonymous August 25, 2009 at 7:35 am

I usually have a bottle of Diet Lipton Citrus Grean Tea. I'm a gastric bypass patient so I have to be very picky with what I eat and drink. Turns out for me, I can have NO sugar and no caffeine. Which in the long run, isn't all that bad! I'll take it.
