Share Your Germ-Fighting Tip
It’s not always possible to kill germs the old-fashioned way with soap and water when you’re on-the-go with kids. That’s why I always have a container of Wet Ones in my car’s cupholder, and both my kids and I use Wet Ones frequently (like after grocery shopping, after summer camp, anytime before eating something) when we aren’t near a sink with soap. I’m asking my readers to share their own Germ-Fighting Tip in the entry form below and by leaving comments on this post.

Try singing hapy birthday or the alphabet while washing hands. Kids love to sing and it passes the time.
I always carry wet ones to wipe grocery cart before shopping. Learned this lesson after my baby girl got salmonella poisioning from shopping cart..
Definitely washing hands often! Wipes are great for those many times we’re not close to a sink, though! Six-year-old boys can get pretty messy!
thanks
I dont go anywhere w/o them! :)
If you don’t want to go to the doctors office and get a shot, keep your fingers out of your mouth.
I always carry a TON of pens in my purse and NEVER use the store pen when signing a credit slip. This will cut down on germ transfers. I also keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in the door of my car and clean my hands before starting the car after shopping or being out.
Wanting to win for my son’s class.
We always use our shopping cart cover! How many times have you seen people leave rerstrooms without washing? I know I have seen it way too often. I think it is importaat that the cover is made to cover the front, back and sides of the seat for the kids not to even touch at all…germs are everywhere, but avoiding ecoli/fecal bacteria and worse is more of my concern than just a plain old cold germ! We do always have wet ones and Burt’s Bees hand sanitizer mist on hand, too.
I do the same as Katy. I tell my kids to change their clothes and wash their hands as soon as they come home from school!
Wash hands frequently and avoid touching everything while in public. Little ones like to put fingers in mouths, yuck!
my grandson wants to wipe everything, his face, hands and feet.
I keep wet ones in the car, so we can clean our hands after shopping or playing at the playground.
I carry wet ones in my purse to wipe shopping cart handles which are full of germies.
Always wash your hands and keep them out of your mouth and eyes.
I always have my kids change their clothes when they get home from school. Don’t want those germs coming in my house!
Tell my kids…If it is wet and not theirs, they are NOT to touch it! :)
Wash your hands!!!!
My tip:
Always carry a little bit of alcohol based hand sanitizer with me, for emergencies, but mainly I try to use, and try to encourage others to use anti-bacterial soap and wipes as little as possible, regular soap works just as good, and it doesn’t create strains of bacteria that are immune. Plus, I always believed that a little illness never hurt a child (within reason) and the parents that over sanitize everything, and never let there child play with others were harming and abusing their children. In my experience (and the experience of my professors and those around me) those children tend to be the more sickly.
Keep pens out of your mouth
Awesome!!!
color coordinating cloths and sponges to avoid cross contamination. Blue for bathrooms, “K”oral for kitchen.
