🥫Coupon Tip: Unit Prices - Why I Buy SmallerI buy smaller packages of products when I can get a better unit price by using a coupon or taking advantage of a sale.

Many people advocate buying in bulk at warehouse clubs to save money, but for most families it becomes a temptation to spend more money rather than an opportunity to save money. My family used to joke about not being able to walk out of Costco without spending $100, and this is true for many people who shop at warehouse clubs. I know that Costco is well known for offering the smallest markup on the goods that they sell. I’m always impressed at the deals on clothing I see when I shop there – name brands at non-name brand prices! Warehouse clubs do offer some great deals, but you have to be careful not to be tempted to buy the not so great deals or the extra things that you don’t need.

I carry around a calculator with me so that I can calculate the unit prices of products when I have a question about which size of package to buy. It’s all about the percentage savings that coupons or sales can get you. So, next time you are at the grocery store, check the unit prices! You may learn something new!
