I love to read and although I have a busy schedule as a blogger and mom, I still try to find time to read at least one chapter of an eBook every day. I might read that chapter while waiting at an appointment, folding laundry, or waiting at the busstop but I try to make time every day because I enjoy reading and I learn through reading.
I’ve always loved reading, but there have been times in my life when I experienced a reading drought. I stopped reading because I felt like I didn’t have time to read. One of those reading droughts occurred when my second child was born and I had two boys under two years old. I thought I couldn’t read anything longer than a magazine article because I was too busy with my two boys (and with starting my blog). Looking back now I realize that I really did have the time but I just had a mental block against fitting it into my schedule.
Things are just as busy now, but in different ways, and eBooks are helping me sneak in my daily reading by making books more accessible to me. If I have my iPhone with me, I can read a few pages in an eBook using the Kindle for iPhone app. I no longer have to tote physical books around, I just have to tote devices which can access eBooks. Since I always use the free Kindle Apps, I can sync between all of my devices so I can always access my most recent bookmark. I’d rather curl up to an eBook in the evenings for entertainment than turn on the television.
If reading is important to you, you will make time for it (even if it’s only 15 minutes a day). I think it’s really important to keep reading as a life-long habit because there are so many benefits. I hope you’re enjoying the free eBooks I post and I encourage you to leave a comment to share why you read eBooks and how they are changing when you find time to read.

Well I think it depends on the kind of books youre reading. If you’re reading trashy romance novels or Jersey Shore books or Twilight for your kids.. I think your time would be better spent doing something else. Don’t get me wrong – I think reading is so important and needs to be more encouraged for both adults and kids in our society, but the quality of the book is just as important as incorporating more reading into your life.
thanks for the free ebooks. Love them!
Guess I should tell you why I love them. Before I got my Kindle I would read all the books my parents passed on to me. I just would rather spend the money on buying my kids books. I sneak in reading at night after everyone else goes to sleep, so it takes a while to finish a book (makes the library not a good option). So the free eBooks have been perfect for me. Plus I get to read stuff I never would have read before. Oh and I don’t like romance novels so I am always on the lookout for just a good drama or comedy.
Yes! I love the free eBooks. Thanks so much.
I love the ebooks you make available to us. I read about 30 minutes in the afternoon when I am resting and before I go to sleep at night. I am reading Sweet Tea Jesus shoes now. Such a cute book and reminds me so much of my husbands side of the family and my side. Keep up the good work and may God bless you. I take my kindle with me everywhere I go. Always great to grab a few extra minutes when I can.
The ebooks have made it so much easier to read on the go! I never thought I would like reading on my iphone, but I do! It is always with me, and so easy to quick pull out while waiting around for something. I recently read Sophie’s Choice which is a very large book! It was so much easier with the ebook version because it was so cumbersome to drag around the print book.
The public library is also a good source for ebooks.all you need is a library card!
I love the free ebooks and try and get them almost every time. I love reading and when I go through a reading drought I sometimes feel dumber. Right now I am in school and doing a lot of reading for my classes, as well as playing mommy and daddy to a one year old. I really do need to squeeze in fun reading sometime. Thankfully my husband will be back soon and fitting in time will be a no brainer. Keep posting, and thank you again.
I love your posts. I look everyday to see what I can get new. Keep on bringing them. Thanks!!
I love your free ebooks posts! I think it’s my favorite part of your blog. I have a nook though, so I’m always disapointed when a book isn’t free for the Nook. I appreciate you noting in your blog post when they are free on the Nook, since it saves me the time to look them up. I almost always check the Kindle link first and quickly read the reviews before downloading them. There are probably enough books on my Nook now to last me a year long reading vacation, but keep them coming!
